Student Housing
#1 Student Lettings Agency
So you’ve got your offer from the University of Lincoln or Bishop Grosseteste University, and now you’re googling “what’s student life in Lincoln actually like?” First things first: congratulations – you’re moving to one of the UK’s most student-friendly cities.
At Student Housing, we’ve helped thousands of students find their perfect home in Lincoln. Whether it’s your first year or your final year, living in the right accommodation makes a huge difference to your experience. So, what’s a typical day like when you rent a student house near the University of Lincoln? Let’s walk you through it.
You roll over and hit snooze. It’s a chilly morning in Lincoln, but your room is warm and quiet. That’s the beauty of bills-included student housing — you’re not stressing about turning the heating on. Your rent covers everything: gas, electricity, water, Wi-Fi, and even the TV licence. No awkward housemate group chats about who’s in charge of topping up the meter.
Most of our student houses in Lincoln are fully furnished, with double beds, desks, wardrobes, and blackout blinds for those much-needed lie-ins.
You head downstairs to the kitchen — there’s cereal on the table, someone’s making eggs, and there’s always that one person who’s already got their revision notes out. Your housemates are a mix of students from the University of Lincoln’s Business School, the School of Film & Media, and a Biomedical Science student from BGU. It’s diverse, it’s fun, and it always smells like toast.
Your kitchen has everything you need — a washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, microwave — and maybe even a dishwasher (yes, really).
One of the biggest benefits of renting student accommodation through us? Location. You’re likely just a 5-10 minute walk from the University of Lincoln’s main Brayford Campus, so no need for buses or taxis. Whether you live on West Parade, Carholme Road, or the Sincil Bank area, you’ll be on campus before your coffee gets cold.
As you walk down the hill, you pass the Marina, cross over the Brayford Waterfront, and head onto campus. Maybe you swing by 200 Degrees or Café Portico for a proper coffee if you’re feeling flush.
Whether you’re in the Isaac Newton Building studying Computer Science or in the Minerva Building for a Media seminar, everything on campus is walkable and well laid-out. Need to hit the books? The University Library is open 24/7 during term time. Or maybe you’re the type to grab a quiet corner in Tower Bar and work with a hot chocolate.
The Students’ Union building is always buzzing — grab a panini at The Swan, or pick up something quick from the SU Shop. If you’re budgeting (or just craving leftovers), head back home and raid the fridge.
The best bit? You’re not miles away. Our Lincoln student houses are all close to campus, so going home for lunch or a power nap is always an option.
If you’re the gym type, you’ve got options. PureGym Lincoln is open 24/7 and just off Tritton Road. Prefer to keep it on campus? The University of Lincoln Sports Centre offers memberships and a range of classes. If wellness is more your thing, there’s also Yoga at The Studio or an afternoon walk around Lincoln Arboretum — a peaceful green space just 10 minutes from many of our properties.
Need to do a food shop? Morrisons, Lidl, and Tesco Express are all nearby. You can even swing by St. Marks Retail Park for a browse in JD Sports or Boots.
Back at the house, the kitchen turns into social central. Housemates cook together or take turns — one night it’s spaghetti, the next it’s a full-on fajita night. There’s always music, chats about deadlines, and debates about whether it’s too early to put up fairy lights.
This is the real student experience — shared meals, shared memories. And you’ve got superfast broadband (included in your rent), so there’s no fighting over who’s streaming what.
If you’re heading out, Lincoln delivers. Student favourites like Home, Superbull at Moka, and The Scene are usually buzzing midweek. For quieter nights, you might grab drinks at The Strait and Narrow, or hit The Cardinal’s Hat for a pint and board games.
Not in the mood to go out? Settle into the sofa and get a film on. Most of our student homes have TVs in the lounge, and if yours doesn’t, you can always borrow one of our extras from the office — yep, we really do think of everything.
We’re not just another letting agency — we’re a team of former students who genuinely get it. We’ve lived in Lincoln, studied here, and rented here, so we know what matters:
