Our Story
Student Housing was founded in 2015 by two University of Lincoln students, Harry Conti and Marcus Askam-Yates, who experienced firsthand the frustrations of the student housing market.
Starting with just three properties in Lincoln, we've grown to become one of the region's leading student accommodation providers, now operating across Lincoln, Nottingham, and Hull.
Our mission has always been clear: put students' needs first and work only with landlords whose properties feel like home. This means selecting houses with modern, comfortable décor and amenities that students truly want.
Our Growth Journey
2015: The Beginning
Launched in Lincoln with just three properties and a mission to transform student lettings with quality homes and transparent service.
2019: Nottingham Expansion
Opened our second branch in Nottingham, securing a £2.6 million investment fund within weeks for acquiring more student properties.
2024: Hull Launch
Expanded to Hull, bringing our student-centric approach to a third university city and extending our portfolio to over a thousand student tenants.

Harry Conti
Co-Founder & Director
A Law graduate from the University of Lincoln, Harry's poor experience as a student tenant and later as a landlord became the catalyst for Student Housing. He leads the company's strategic growth and partnerships.
Harry was named among the Lincolnshire 30 Under 30 young business talents in 2019 for his entrepreneurial success in transforming the student lettings market.
Marcus Askam-Yates
Co-Founder
Marcus left university early to build Student Housing with just £500 in savings. He introduced the company's distinctive free maintenance service and policies that led to the highest deposit return rates in the area.
In 2023, Marcus exited the business to focus on his new venture, Lincoln Imporium. He continues to trust Student Housing to manage his own family's student property portfolio.
